Meat pie
Ingredients:

For the crust:

1cup of margarine(at room temperature)
 2tbs baking powder
1tsp salt
1/2tsp baking soda
11/2tsp honey or brown sugar
11/2cups of water

 For the filling:

11/2 pounds lean ground beef
 2cups cubed potatoes, cooked
11/2tbs vegetable oil

21/2cups diced onions
21/2cups cubed carrots, cooked
1/2tsp curry
1/2tsp thyme
4 bouillon cube
a pinch of salt
1tsp seasoning salt
1/4cup flour
1/2cup water

For egg wash:
1 large egg(room temperature)
a whisk
a clean kitchen brush

Preparation:

For the crust:Mix all the dry ingredients and add the wet ones( mix in the margarine first, followed by the water) mix until smooth and dough is formed, set aside in a plastic wrap/bowl and refrigerate while you make the filling.

For Egg Wash:
Whisk the egg in a clean bowl, and set aside

For the filling:Add the vegetable oil and onions in a deep frying pan and fry till golden brown, then add the ground beef, and fry till brown. Add all the seasoning ingredients stir, mix the 1/4cup flour into the water and add to the beef stir to mix. Lastly add the potatoes and carrots, stir and taste for salt. Bring to boil and lower the heat, allow to simmer for 2-3minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.

Cut out a small size of dough and roll out on a greased surface, make it as thin as you want it to be, use a pie cutter or a small pot cover to cut the size you need. Scoop out some of the meat mixture and place in the middle of the crust( just enough to allow you fold the pie comfortably) and bring one end of the crust and press it hard on the other end with your fingers, followed by a fork. Transfer to a greased baking pan/tray and give an egg wash by using a brush to apply the egg on the upper part of the pie. Repeat the steps until all the dough is finished. Turn on the oven to 350degrees F and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve with a glass of juice, milk or water. Enjoy!
